FOTV love and community events

It’s been the toughest of terms and I hope you are all ok. It’s certainly been a challenging time for many of us. The FOTV has been working hard behind the scenes to keep our community united and supported. While events were, of course, off the table in Term 3, we worked on several projects to help spread the LLV love around.

YEAR 12 CARE PACKS

Aware that one of the most impacted student cohorts is our Year 12s, we decided to create a personalized pack of surprise goodies for all twenty-nine of them! A lot of love and care went into assembling these packs complete with Organic Raw Cacao Drinking Chocolate, a gorgeous mug with a reminder to FEEL THE GOOD, a handmade aromatherapy FOCUS Mist, magic study beans, a chocolate Boost, a beautiful ‘Good Luck Fairy’ picture and message from one of our youngest students on behalf of everyone, and a custom LLV card with a handwritten message for each student! The Leadership Team did an amazing job of hand delivering these packages to our Year 12s. We hope they brought the love and light we want to give all the Year 12s, who have faced the disruption and uncertainty with trademark LLV resilience.

Go well, all of you. We’ve got you!

PARENT SUPPORT

We also tried to keep our parent community connected and supported by creating a little video for you all to make you laugh and let you know we’re here! We were inspired by the creative output of our extraordinary Principals and we had a lot of fun making it – we hope you enjoyed it!

During week 8 of lockdown, we hosted virtual meet-ups for parents of every LLV stage; it was great to catch-up with long lost acquaintances in the comfort of our well-worn Zoom chairs!  Many lockdown tips and stories were shared that week!

We also established our FOTV Business Directory for our parent community  We’d love for the Directory to become a great resource for you all – we have amongst us so many talented and skilled people and the next time you need a graphic designer, lawyer, handyperson, physiotherapist, you name it – you’ll be able to check our Directory and support a LLV family. If you haven’t submitted your business details to the Directory yet, please click here to submit your details.

TEACHER THANKS

Finally, we decided we wanted to show our appreciation and respect to our teachers and our administration & support staff, who make our school the beautiful place it is. Lockdown is uniquely challenging for everyone, but the way our teachers have shown up for our kids has been amazing.  At the beginning of lockdown, parents and children ‘grouped-together’ to send messages, images and photos of support to our wonderful LLV staff.  Below is an extract from that card – how awesome!

Many of you also contributed photos and videos of your kids learning at home and we made it into a little film!

In the final week of term, thanks to your generosity, we were able to gift each of our staff members a $25 gift voucher from Nutie Whole Foods, alongside this little film and a thank you email.

If you haven’t seen the film, grab a tissue – here it is.

Here’s what we have planned for Term 4

Gingerbread House Fundraiser – we’re super excited to let you know that some delicious Gingerbread House Kits are now on sale on the FOTV website here.

This will be our major fundraiser for the final term of 2021 as it will be difficult to have any major events. All proceeds go towards our wonderful school!

You can choose Original, Chocolate or Gluten-Free and the deadline for ordering is 16 November!

Just remember to write your child’s name and stage in the notes field after you’ve added your kits to cart… this will help enormously with delivery!

The Gingerbread House Kits are from the excellent Gingerbread Folk and are hands down the best you can buy!  We look forward to seeing your creations!

Lockdown has unfortunately put the kibosh on many of our planned events and activities for the rest of 2021.  However, the FOTV Leadership Team is having our first meeting for the term this week, so look out for details on a new program of community engagement fun soon!

Stay safe and well,

Jason, Lisa, Kathy, Chris, Alyssa, Angela, Danya and Sharon
